Another weekend is here!  It is 80 and sunny out right now which means that I will get the fam all ready for a beach day this weekend and it will be rainy and cold, so cross your fingers!

I recently discovered this interesting new site called Fashion Bay.It is a-maz-ing and I have become addicted to just watching it.  You pay $0.80 per bid you place on an item.  They are mostly luxury items, such as a $200 Gucci gift certificate or a Louis Vuitton bag, and almost every item sells for about 90% less than retail.  They only have a handful of items at a time, so you need to be at your computer and ready for action when an item is about to sell.  You also need to make sure you read how the site works to understand all the rules, such as if you place a bid, it adds 15 minutes to the duration of the auction.  I am currently stalking a few things on there, but have yet to commit to placing any bids!

Finally, le bebe has a nack for destroying any and all of my blackberry covers within a few weeks of purchase (her personal record is one hour.)  Any suggestions on where to get cute pink ones that don't cost $40?  I tried searching the mall, but they had nothing remotely acceptable.

Hope everyone has a fabby weekend!

We are back from the vacation and back to blogging and getting our business going!  A few days off was great and the bebe had a fabby time in the sun and sand!

I read today that Katie Holmes has been cast to play the late great Jackie Kennedy Onassis in a miniseries.  I am a little torn as to my feelings on this.  Katie seems a bit of a wet pair of jeans to me, and seriously, can anyone capture the true essence of the eternally stylish and chic Jackie O?  I decided to focus on this stylista today, because, to me, she is one of the greatest style icons of all time.

Jackie was born in the Hamptons, which helped set the tone for her glamorous life.  She was a decorated rider, was a debutante, and a true prep.  Some of her favorite wardrobe staples included Chanel jackets, A-line skirts, single-color schemes, cashmere and silk.  She wore very little jewelry and made sure to read Women's Wear Daily (well, we have THAT in common!)  She shopped at Bergdorf Goodman and the Gap.  She also helped make Jack Rogers sandals and Lilly Pulitzer dresses as popular as they are today.  Adore her!  She truly was a timeless stylista!

Sorry for the lack of posts!  We are on a much needed mini-vacay in Captiva Island, Florida.  It is warm and sunny and relaxing and we don't have to drive to the beach!  Ahhh, happy sigh!  The bebe has been running around in just a diaper for two days now.  We are browsing the boutiques and have some fabby ideas for the store!

Hope everyone is having a fabby weekend!

Happy Earth Day lovies!  Today is all about being green and helping to love our fabby planet!  As you know, we are setting up our online store for a launch later this year.  We plan on featuring made in American planets (save the nasty effects of shipping far), recycled packaging materials, and some eco-friendly goodies.  It may seem trivial, but if we all take a few small steps like this it can have a big impact!

I signed up for this great newsletter from the ladies who brought us Skinny Bitch, a fabulous, all natural, earth-friendly cook/diet book, Healthy Bitch Daily.  It is full of earth-friendly tidbits in a very chic way!

A friend of mine also has a fabulous line of eco-friendly clothing and bracelets which support great causes and are all made in America!  Check them out! TeamProject360.

One of my favorite brand of bags is Matt and Nat.  Visit them at Matt and Nat to shop their line of handbags made from recycle water bottles.  Fabby and environmentally friendly!

Finally, earth-friendly baby toys.... let them go through the recycling and they will be MORE than happy as our bebe usually is :)

Happy hump day!  Make sure you become a follower on Twitter! @pinkfabby

We have a small vacation planned next week so I thought I would go over some travel wear do's and dont's.  I know it is a great idea to be comfy on a long plane ride, but there is no need to look frumpy while you are doing it.  I personally hate wearing jeans on planes because I feel uncomfortable and like I want to unbutton my pants to get some extra room in all that stuffy plane air.  Here is a great example of a don't:
I am not sure what is going on with Sienna Miller here, but she definitely looks a little TOO comfortable.  Lauren Conrad makes comfort look much better here in a great example of a do:

Leggings and an oversize shirt are comfy and cute and what I always go with.   It is always imperative that you travel with a fabby bag as well, like LC's Goyard tote.  I use my oversize Louis Vuitton tote to hide diapers, wipes, and bottles.

Hope you all have a fabby day!

I'm posting so late in the day today because my computer, who has been misbehaving lately, decided to crash on me!  She is back up and running (with some interesting noises and quirks) for now!  Cross your fingers she makes it!

I have a fabby discount for all your handbag addicts, like myself, out there!  Go to and enter INSTYLE25 at checkout to receive 25% off any purchase.  They have super adorbs bags, accessories and clothing.  I am desperately seeking a white bag that I will fall in lurve with so I will definitely be checking here!

On the biz side of things, become a fan on Facebook of Pink and Fabulous, follow us on Twitter at @pinkfabby and check out as we build the site!

I'll leave you with a dose of Reese W. fabbiness!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I spent part of mine in my personal heaven, Laguna Beach.  It is my goal in life to live there.  Aaah...

Today I am going to focus on a BIG part of my life and one of my personal obsessions for years... my agenda/planner!  These babies are well, my babies.  I look forward to the start of every new year not for resolutions and parties, but because I can get a new planner!  I used to only use Kate Spade agendas but I have since found a new love... the Mom Agenda.  Yeah, that's right - mom planner. Mine is hot pink, of course, but it is one of the few that fits all of my requirements:  must be large enough to write in clearly, yet small enough to fit in my handbag.  I need a space to write a to-do list for each day and a separate monthly calendar, as well as note space for all sorts of random stuff.  I'm obsessed with my to-do lists and this baby gets me through everything, while taking the abuse of drooling, page-ripping, crayon-loving toddler.  If you aren't a mom you will still want one!
Hope everyone has a fabby week!!

Happy Friday!! What is everyone doing this weekend?

If you know me, you know I have a mild obsession with Bethenny Frankel, particularly her sarcastic and funny comments, simple and classic style, and amazeballs healthy natural food recipes.  Last night I had a major urge to eat chocolate cake so I made this super easy and low-fat recipe from her book the Skinnygirl Dish.  Delish!!!

How-Is-This-So-Moist Chocolate Cake (page 182)
1 1/4 cups oat flour
1 cup raw sugar (I use 1/2 cup Splenda and 1/2 sugar)
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Preheat over to 350.  Mix all ingredients in a bowl and pour into a loaf pan coated with cooking spray.  Cook for 40-50 minutes, turning halfway through.

There is a peanut butter glaze recipe to top this with, but I think it tastes yummy with some fat free whipped cream.

Hi lovies!  Hope everyone is having a fabby Thursday!  Hubs, bebe and I are surrounded by graphs and charts over here as we cook up our biz plan!  I have been cross multiplying and finding the value of x like I am in calculus class!  I never knew that my ocd would lead to a multi-week devotion to business writing!

I am writing a super short post today because I can't stop sneezing long enough to get anything productive done (I am SUPER allergic to some of the pets in our house.)  I hope everyone has a fabby day!

Happy hump day!  This week is, like always, flying by!  I think I could do better with 26 hours in a day!

I have some exciting news!  There is a new Shopaholic book coming out later this year!!
From the look of it, it will be a book about my bebe!

I have lots of business plan writing/budget making to do so I'll leave you with this pink and fabby picture which made me smile!!

Apr 13, 2010

I spent the better part of last night business plan writing and trying to figure out all sorts of biz math that is waaaaay beyond my mental capacities.  Who knows how to explain this all to me?!

I have been trying to "decorate" our lovely little apartment as best as I can on a budget for the last year that we have lived here.  And it has taken me that long to decide on a paint color for our living room.  I am totally inspired by this picture and the wall colors.

I die for the chair and all the white accents!  Same goes with the following pic.

I think I want to live in a Nantucket, beach-esque house.

Hope everyone had a fabby weekend!  Another weekend over!  After this upcoming weekend we are jam packed through October!!  Woo!  We did some shopping this weekend (lucky me having a husband who doesn't mind the mall.)  I got some adorable earrings and a belt from Nordy's (for only $20) and some amazing Stuart Weitzman nude pumps that Angelina rocks at DSW for suuuuuper sale.  Yay!  Shopping makes me way too happy!

Also, I made an amazing discovery at the grocery store - Lilly Pulitzer designed animal cracker boxers!! They are a limited edition run of one million so make sure you get them!  They are (almost) too cute to eat!

12 - Friday!

Happy Friday lovies!!  So excited for the weekend - this week has flown by and there just are never enough hours in the day to get everything done!!  Plus, if it stays in the 80's we need to get the bebe to the beach to rock her new bikini and cover-ups (Target!)
Girl bebes are so fun to play dress up with!

Have you seen the new Sex and the City 2 trailer?! Aiden is back and I am dying!!!!  May 27th cannot come fast enough!

Finally, let me leave you with this article about the newly refurbish Lilly Pulitzer store in NYC.

11 - Thoughts

Hi lovies!  Hope everyone is having a fabby Thursday!  We have some great things coming along for the store!!  As soon as they are finalized I will share all the deets!

Make sure you become a Twitter follower as well - @pinkfabby!

I have been eyeing up new bags for summer - I am in need of a white bag!  I can't seem to find one I love (or that is reasonably priced.)  What are your thoughts on this Louis Vuitton medium sized Never Full?  It's a little pricey, but I can dream, right?
I need a bag big enough to haul bebe's toys/diapers/snacks/bottles in, as well as my own stuff.  I never thought I would become the big bag carrying type!!

Let me know your thoughts!!

#10 Happy Hump Day!

I don't know if it is just me, but this week has flown by!  At least I know what day it is today!  Yesterday, I woke up to my blackberry having deleted almost everything on itself and today my computer has completely lost all volume and is making noises which resemble an airplane taking off.  I fear that all the important electronics in my life are on the verge of death.  What to do?!

Did everyone see Reese W.'s Easter outfit at the White House this weekend?  I adore it!  Plain white is a personal fave!  She can do no wrong fashion-wise!
I also found this picture of a dinner party Lauren Conrad was throwing at her home.  I adore her decorating skills!
How fabby are those chairs?  I did some research and believe almost everything in her dining area shown here is available at Crate and Barrel.  Love, love, love!!

Has anyone been watching High Society?  It's on tonight (Wednesday at 9:30 pm on CW.)  I am up in the air about it.  I love checking out Tinsley's to die for Marchesa frocks, but the other characters give me anxiety.  Let me know your thoughts!

I am off to find a bead store in LA - trying to get back into my jewelry making hobby!  Hope everyone has a fabby day!!

#9 addendum

Correction on earlier post - I thought it was Monday!  I am losing it today!!!

#9 - It's Tuesday?

So, I spent the better part of this morning thinking it was Tuesday... which can explain why there was no post yesterday.  Yikes!

What did everyone do for Easter?  I love any reason to have a party/decorate/cook massive amounts of food, so of course that is what I did on Sunday!

We had our fabby friends over and everyone was entertained by the bebe, who was wearing her Easter finest, including a pink tutu!
I made some Easter decorations using adorable left over pink and green flower pots from my bridal shower (thanks Toner!)  We hid Easter eggs all over the first floor for the grown up egg hunt and, of course, had an egg dying station!
We also ate a delicious and healthy meal made entirely from Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl Dish cookbook!  We had a light arugula and tomato salad, roast turkey breast, grilled salmon and veggies, roasted herb potatoes and sweet potato souffle.  I adore her cookbook!  For desert I made her super light cheesecake.  Yum!

#8 TGIF!

Ah, I can smell the weekend!  I am throwing a little Easter soiree for the bebe and the parents, who are coming to town later this afternoon.  I can't wait to put up pics!  I have a party planning sickness!  What are everyone's weekend/holiday plans?

I am always looking for a good deal on outfits, since I get sick of things very quickly and having a baby can really detract from one's shopping budget.  I found these two fabby sites which have adorable dresses and shoes for great prices!  You can purchase whole outfits for under $60!  You must give them a look!

Also, make sure to become a fan on facebook and follow on Twitter, and tell your friends!! The more followers we can get, the better contests we can start having!!

#7 - April Fools!

I cannot believe it is April!  Time flies by so fast!  I am so excited that in just one week my awesome husband and friends have helped make it to 14 followers!! Kisses to all you lovies!

Let's talk about Reese (Witherspoon, not poodie.)  I made the executive decision to call her my style icon.  She is the perfect mix of classic, preppy, sporty and chic all in one.  She never overdoes it with accessories (something I am always trying to maintain, hence I never wear earrings and a necklace at the same time), she never wears anything that doesn't look comfortable, and she sticks to basics - solids in black, white, brown and navy with splashes of color and the occasional pattern. LOVE her.  She is truly fabby.  These two pictures sum up her everyday style.

 Look 1
I wanted to copy the look so I took to my closet and fave stores to put together similar looks for less and this is what I came up with:
*Black leggings (Forever 21 - $5)
*Black loose tee with 3/4 sleeves (Target -$10)
*Black flip flops (Splurge... Tory Burch black patent flip flops $125)
*Black sunglasses (I picked up on a giftcard and 20% discount - Michael Kors -$50)
*Fedora (Urban Outfitters - $25)
*Black bag (I have a Botkier or a Chanel that I use regularly.)

Look 2
* Jeans (Hue jean leggings -$35)
*White tank (Nordstrom's BP tank - $10)
*Sweater (Gap cableknit, but in baby pink - $40)
*Hat (see Look 1)
*Boots (Cole Haan, on sale at Nordstrom - $120)
*Bag - well, let's just say I can't do messenger style ;)
Who are your style icons?  Leave your responses and why in the comments section! Enjoy your Real Housewives fix tonight fabbies!
