What's in the bag?

I recently acquired a new love... my Alexander Wang Rocco bag (after months of indecision then waiting for the color I wanted from Neiman Marcus.)  We have been having a pretty sordid love affair the last several weeks.  The gorgeous navy blue shade and top handles as well as adjustable shoulder strap (over the shoulder or messenger style!) makes it a great mommy bag and it matches basically everything!

My hubby managed to get blue paint on it this weekend but it came right off - phew! (see evidence in above photo.)  I highly recommend this bag!  Great alternative to the LV Speedy!

Anyway... I decided I needed to switch it up to a different bag today and dumped everything out. I was shocked at all of the random things I had acquired in the past month and decided to snap a pic.
I know it's dark (iPhone style) but I used to have such a neat handbag with everything organized nicely into little bags.  My Prada bag has some makeup, earbuds, medicines and the little red bow bag has some Trish McEvoy makeup.  I always have baby wipes with me (there are about 10,000 uses for these), my wallet, some lip gloss, Aquaphor and a pen.  However, here are the random things which have me scratching my head...
  • My husband's extra car keys.  I NEVER drive his car. Ever.
  • Multiple boxes of crayons from restaurants.  I don't take crayons from restaurants but I think I know who does...
  • A lollipop. Again, not mine. May or may not be used (gross!)
  • Toe separators.  Avery LOVES these. I just hope they didn't come from the trash at the nail salon.
  • Sunscreen.  Pretty sure this had been left in the beach bag...
  • Multiple kids' lipgloss
My little lady happily admitted to grabbing random things and "packing" them into my purse at pretty much opportunity she can get.  Cracks me up!  Lesson learned: if I am missing something my little sticky fingers probably tossed them into my bag!

Girl Crush: Nicole Richie

Do you all remember five years + ago when Nicole Richie was Paris Hilton's sidekick and she dressed 24/7 like she was about to hit up a rave?  Let's all try to block those images form our minds while we discuss how this mom of two has turned into a fashion idol (in my opinion.)  I cannot find any recent outfits of hers that I don't like (except the motorcycle boots - just can't get into those.)  Maybe being a mom is good for style and the closet?  Either way, I love her House of Harlow accessories and Winter Kate clothing collection!  Here are some of my favorite recent looks of NicRich's:

She knows how to rock the mustard yellow! Here are a couple of looks I put together with the same color...

Quick Thanksgiving Recap

I am TIRED!  I cooked starting Wednesday night and all day yesterday.  I was going in super slo-mo though and had no wine assistance ;)  However, I love cooking, especially big holiday meals so I was happy at the end of the day!  Hubby and I even hit up one crazy midnight sale.  We were both a little scared overwhelmed!  I love a good deal, but I don't think I could wait in line for two hours to buy something (unless it was Chanel, maybe...)

Here are a few phone pics...

This is the outfit Avery HAD to wear.  She was so 80's chic!

Yummy Pioneer Woman potatoes.  This was my first time using one of her recipes and I definitely thought they were yummy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving loves!  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and stuffs themselves silly with delicious food!  I have been cooking/baking up a storm and can't wait to EAT!  I'm so thankful to be pregnant over the holidays this year ;)  This DEFINITELY is working to my advantage!  I am about to go slip in my maternity Joey pants and go to town but before I do I thought I would leave you with some fun images from Pinterest for this holiday!

I wish I had more time because I would be busting out the Halloween leftovers to try to make some of these adorable treats!
I'm so thankful for all of YOU who read my random ramblings over here!  Happy Thanksgiving all :)

DIY: Ribbon Wreath

I have been on such a wreath kick lately - must be the holidays!  I googled how to make a ribbon wreath thinking I could make one full of prettily tied bows but after some reading, shopping, and actually getting down to it, it became more of a serious of knots.  This is a hodge podge of pinterest and blogs and not my own creation so I promise not to take credit for it! However, this was super easy to do and I was very happy with the finished product!

Supplies: I got the smallest wire frame wreath they sold at Michaels and 8 rolls of ribbon (wireless) in four different patterns but all the same pink shade.  I ended up having to go get one more roll of each, so I recommend 12 rolls total.

This was the hardest part! Cutting the ribbon into pieces! Mine were about 5 inches in length (with some longer and shorter since I eyeballed it.)

Finally, just tie away! I tried to keep mine in a bit of a pattern, but I think no consistency is really necessary to make it look good!

Only a few steps and it was done! The tying took a while, but I did it at night while I was catching up on the DVR and could have finished it in one night but I ran out of ribbon.
The finished wreath! I need to go back and trim up some of the ends, but I was happy with how it turned out on my first try!

It has been a while so I thought I would bust open my inspiration stash for your viewing pleasure!  My tastes lately have been all over the place...

Love this whole look.  I want my grey boots out of storage NOW! And need to find a black bag like this!
Some people hated this dress, but I loved it.  I think green whether, in a dress or simply a large earring ala Kyle Richards is a fun surprise for evening...

Plus, leopard and green go so well together... how amazing is the giant heart locket and the claw bracelet?

Normally, I am not a fan of hers, but I adore this dress!

There is NEVER such a thing as too much pink and leopard! NEVER!

These are pretty easy to hate, but I am fascinated with these leopard leg warmer style shoes on Posh...

Take away those shoes, and this is the perfect night out look!

The color and style of this dress on Stacy Kiebler are perfection

TSwift shows that you don't need accessories when you have a fun dress!

Not the best choice for award show wear, but what an amazing wedding dress this would be!

I literally cannot get enough of this look.  It is amazeballs! Swoon!

Nov 21, 2011

Happy Monday!  I woke up pretty excited because it actually feels like Thanksgiving week!  We haven't been able to say that the past few years in CA because it was always too warm (I know, boo hoo.)  I am ready to hit the grocery store and cook all week and not need to put the AC on!

Did anyone watch the AMA's last night? I usually love Vanessa Manillo Lachey, but I am not sure she was the best choice... Here are my favorite looks from the show:

I love gold. LOVE. And sequins.  I love Taylor's dress, but I am pretty sure she has worn it to every awards show she has attended the last two years.  I NEED Jennifer Hudson's short little number! How sassy and fun is that?

Now, on to this...
I love Alex Russo Selena Gomez and just deal with the fact she is dating Justin Bieber and his wanna be thug voice.  But this just looks all sorts of wrong to me.  They are way too young to try to look like Angelina and her dad at the Oscars.  Still love that dress though!

Not AMA related, but I am drooling over Nicole Richie's Halston dress she wore this past week! She has been hitting fashion home runs lately and I love, love, love the way this dress fits!

Have you all seen Blair Waldorf's wedding dress? Thoughts?
I was a bit let down... maybe I just need to see it more close-up...

I wore these all weekend while we moved...
New favorite sneakers? Check! I used to wear sneakers all day every day in college and haven't ever since so it seemed odd to wear sneakers with non-workout clothes, but I am bringing it back!

How was your weekend? Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
