Friday Randomness...

So I have a zillion pictures to post and they won't go through as pictures when I email them to myself! What is going on? I have had both my email accounts hacked this week and now this!  Sorry for the short post, but my digital life is not doing so well this week!

Sweat and Swoon

I hate being sweaty. Hate. With a passion.  I will work out with a fan blowing on my face to prevent sweat.  It is one of my (many) irrational fears/issues.  To beat this ridiculous heat I have been trying to dress as light as possible.  It has been a bit of a struggle because, I feel hotter and more swollen than normal obviously and secondly, because all maternity stores seem to only have winter clothes in stock!  I have been trying to just buy up several sizes at regular stores in the sale section.  I LOVE this coral dress from the Gap.  I wanted it at full price but I am glad I waited until it was on sale.  It is meant to be loose, but I think it works a bit more fitted as well!

Dress: Gap (on sale)
Shoes: Tory Burch kitten heel sandal
Earring: Kendra Scott

I love turquoise and coral together.  Actually, I love turquoise and coral with just about everything.  I don't know how I am going to adjust to winter temperatures and not being able to wear them year round!

What do YOU wear to beat the heat?

On the cheap...

I LOVE a good bargain when I am shopping! Of course, I know that sometimes you need to spend a bit more for certain pieces but I also think you need to just cheap it out a bit with trendier items (obviously) or anything that is just too good of a deal to pass up (as long as it is in your size or doesn't need mucho alterations.)  I also like to pair any steals with one really nice accessory, be it shoes or a bag, to balance it all out.  Here is something I wore a few weeks ago when I was still in LA and running errands...

Top: Gap (on sale - $15.99)
Skirt: H&M ($5)
Shoes: Miss Trish of Capri for Target ($30)
Earrings: Stella and Dot
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Belt: Target ($9.99)

I love a good bargain high! Do you?

Old Outfits Begin...

So with all the moving frenzy, I realized that I have SO many outfits backed up on my phone/camera.  I actually felt a little sick looking at some of these from just a couple weeks ago and compared to how large I have gotten the last few days!

Here is one that is a multiple.  I tried to wear as many regular clothes as possible as I could for as long as possible and this tunic in cobalt blue from Anthro was perf for hiding a belly!

Look #1

Top: Anthropologie
Leggings: Nordstrom Rack
Shoes: Tory Burch
Bag: Chanel
Necklace: Stella and Dot

Look #2

Top: Anthropologie
Leggings: Nordstrom Rack
Shoes: random from DSW
Necklace: JCrew

When you're preggo you REALLY become an outfit repeater so I like to try to switch it up with shoes and accessories!

Hair Catastrophe

This past Friday I had my own personal hair catastrophe.  I'm not even being dramatic, it was a full-on hair nightmare....

I had thought about going darker for a long time and decided it would be best to just do a darker blonde with some subtle highlights; something that would be more natural for my hair and its natural (if there is one) color.  So I called up the salon I used to go to in high school to find my girl had left, but made an appointment with someone else they highly recommended for color.  After getting there and being a little taken aback by her appearance and her constant need for assistance from one of the other color specialists she seemed confident enough for me to give her the benefit of the doubt.  It started out like this:

She was all up in my business so I had to sneak a peak of my NEON YELLOW hair.  That is when the bad feelings started.... several hours and two more coats of dye later, this is what I left with:

Bebe looked at me and said "mommy you a skunk."  No truer words were spoken.  Nowhere is there dark brown nor is there any subtle highlights.  If I weren't preggo there would have been some xanax and wine involved to get me through the night.

I managed to get an appointment at another salon where they were able to fix it and this is what I left with:

Please note the somber face since I had just spent about three months of hair budget to get what I never wanted in the first place.

Lesson learned:  Just because you have been there before doesn't mean you will get the same thing. What's your hair horror story?

Pregnant Wedding Wear

It's summer time and as we all know, wedding season is in full swing!  With all the moving and insane heat I have been scrambling to figure out what to wear to weddings! My rule is to buy something in a larger size (don't spend a lot, you're PREGGERS!) and have it altered to fit!  Of course, you can always hit the maternity stores (which I also did) and ALWAYS bring flip flops because any and all dancing will have you feet nice and swollen (always a glamorous look!)  We had two fun weddings we attended recently and here is what I ended up going with...

Dress: Pea in the Pod
Shoes: BP at Nordy's
Bag: Vintage Chanel
Necklace: Target
Bracelets: David Yurman

Dress: Target
Shoes: Christian Dior
Bag: Vintage Chanel
Necklace: Stella and Dot

I love weddings because I can steal my mom's vintage Chanel bag that is usually way too small to use.  For both of these weddings, I brought black Tory Burch flippies with me when I couldn't handle the heels any longer!

What would you wear?

TGIF!

I heard Last Friday Night like ten times today and my head is just the "T-G-I-F" chant and I'm not going to lie, I kind of like it... This means we have only a few days left to pack and let me tell you, moving is a BI***! I have done it so many times, but this time is the worst of the worst! It seems like all car and home movers have gotten a whole lot worse and more expensive in the last few years!

Sorry to go off on that tangent...

I need a pink suitcase, btw.  I travel more than I realize and I think pink would be MUCH easier to spot on the baggage claim!

Sorry, I need moving/packing distractions!

On another note, I have been trying to stay stylish with this growing belly! It seemed a lot easier the first time, probably because I was wearing work clothes and not able to throw on sweats like a bum (I'm realllly trying to break the habit.)  Also, the first time around I was able to hide that bump for a good five months, this time it was about five hours before people started asking.

Tips?  Anyone?

Here's what I had done recently before pulling the trigger on some stretchy waistband bottoms....

Top: Calypso for Target
Pants: AG (with a belly band)
Shoes:  Gap
Bracelets: Stella and Dot

Top:  Gap
Skirt: H&M ($5!)
Shoes:  Miss Trish of Capri for Target
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Earrings: Stella and Dot

Happy Weekend :)

BACK!

I am BACK! I just realized we will be on a plane somewhere every week of this month... oof!  I don't have a lot to say since I have currently devoted my life to my less-than-one-week to pack up and move project.  I have movers set for our cars and home but all of these boxes need to be packed and ready to go!  I HAAAAAAATE packing. I don't know how to say it anymore vehemently. I also hate being separated from the majority of my clothes and shoes for an extended period of time, wondering where they are floating around the country.  Gives a girl anxiety! Let me know if you have any tips ;)

I thought I would share a quick ootd... my wardrobe is (obviously) changing dramatically and a lot more quickly than it did before!  This is for dinner at Ago in West Hollywood (yummy Italian) hubby took me to celebrating me finally getting my master's and graduating cum laude!

Dress: Random from Nordstrom
Shoes: Tory Burch
Bag: Chanel

I always have trouble with jewelry and black and white outfits so I just stacked a bunch of Yurman bracelets with this.  It wasn't my favorite but it worked!

Now who wants to find us a place to live around NYC and pack for me?  Anyone?
