Pink and Green!

I never hide my love of mixing pink and green of all shades.  I also have no shame when it comes to making A dress in semi-matching outfits.  Isn't that half the point of having children? Although she may look back and resent me greatly, I go ahead and do it... Case in point, we decided (yes, together) to throw together some casual summer pink and green outfits for moving stuff around and doing slave/manual labor at my parents' house.  Here is the end result (pardon my ridiculous faces... I never claimed to be a model nor do I strive to be one!)
Green stripes with pink corduroy, why not?

Top: DKNY
Shorts: Target
Necklace: JCrew

Yes, I am large in charge. Only going to get bigger.  Makes for some real purty pictures... sorry all :)

JCrew Shoes

I'm currently in the midst of a semi-major love affair with JCrew shoes.  They jacked up their prices (yet again) but this time the shoes are worthy of it! Add to that, their ability to replicate Stubbs & Wootton as well as use a perfect hot pink shade throughout and I am a happy girl!

Here are my favorites:

High heeled loafers are a necessity this season. I wish I still had mine from five years ago!

I can't get enough of the perfect leopard flat...

Hot pink with the tiniest heel!

And more hot pink...

Glitter heaven!

Oh Irene...

This was a pretty eventful weekend after all!  We have been staying at my parent's house while we wait for the purchase of the house we are buying to go through so we were all there, plus my parents (obviously.)  After spending two days shopping for all things in case power went out plus a generator and wood to block flooding, etc. as well as moving plants, furniture, cars, etc. to avoid wind damage we thought we could relax a bit Saturday night.  Nope.  First there were the tornado warnings, a dog that needed to go to the bathroom a lot (leaving you soaking every time), and an antsy toddler (thank goodness for dress up and fun aunts!)  We managed to keep power the whole time (thank goodness!) but late night the flooding started.  My poor dad and hubby were up the entire night trying to get the water out, but the floor is all ruined.  We managed to move all the rugs and furniture in time and they kept the water low enough to avoid damaging the walls.  We were still really lucky by the looks of things on the news though!! Here are a few pics to sum it all up...
Sleeping on the job

One of many performances to entertain us all!

Sick of getting our picture taken

More performing!

Dress up time!

Ready for a rainy walk!

Poor wet puppy!

Snuggled up to dry

Hope everyone stayed dry and safe :)

Hurricane Prep

Everytime I move, I feel like there is some sort of crazy disaster which reinforces my need to NOT MOVE AGAIN!  When I first moved to California, there were crazy evacuations and a week off from work for massive fires.  Now that we have moved back to the East Coast we first get hit with an earthquake (no big deal after being in Cali for so long luckily) and then a whopper of a hurricane.  Irene has left everyone scrambling and frantic.  I spent the entire day today shopping in preparation.  First, I fueled up all the cars then headed to the grocery store.  My bff told me they had run out of milk a few hours earlier (crazy times here people) and the sight of the parking lot made me head straight for Whole Foods.  I stocked up on healthy, non-perishable food (even though we spent ALL of Thursday hunting down the last generator in the area to keep the fridge going and some other stuff.)  Exhibit A:
Fruit that needs to ripen.  I couldn't think of anything healthier, although A has been trying to get into the bananas!

Never tried this or soy milk in a box before... Interested to see if it tastes different.

A TEENY sampling of the snacks I got.  Apparently meals are out, snacks are in!

After Whole Foods, I headed to Target.  They were totally out of cases of water and batteries. FANTASTIC.  They were practically out of candles so I mainly was able to get Glade ones and oodles of apple juice for A.  And plenty of puppy food!
(They also had adorable kids jackets and clothes for fall right now!)

I'm legit worried this isn't enough candles.  Paranoia much?

Luckily, we hit up Costco for beverages the day before.  I'm not that worried we will run out...
You can't even see the other two cases of water and Gatorade under there.

And that sums up my craziness.  Don't judge, pregnancy makes me extra anxious! Stay dry loves!

PINKspiration!

Here is a dose of this week's PINK!

The Middleton sisters loved themselves some pink this week!! I was looking for pink shoes and came across this look!! Then I saw it on another blog, Just Dandy and knew that this had to be an inspiration pic!

How prepared are YOU for this crazy hurricane? First an earthquake, now this?!  I was too tired to hit up the grocery store tomorrow, but I guess I will be stocking up tomorrow and hitting up Target for some massive amounts of candles! Yikes!

Little Happies...

Do you ever find something so ridiculously small and minor to be something that makes you massively happy?  It happens to me all the time (which is a good thing because I can be a big grump at the wrong times!)  Two things this week have been little happies for me....

#1. Hangers
I must be living under a rock or something because my most recent trip to Bed Bath and Beyond led me to these little beauties! Huggies hangies for children! Spacial happiness!

#2. Maxi dresses
 Dress: Target
Shoes: Tory Burch

Maxi dresses are my preggo best friend.  Apparently, I am pregnant in my legs this time around... or at least that's what it looks like, and still scorching hot at the same time.  Oh, and having the hardest time finding decent, reasonably priced maternity clothes.  Enter, the maxi dress.  I've been scooping these puppies up at Target, Forever21, etc. for cheap and living large.  Literally.

What makes YOU happy?

Beauty of the Week

I FINALLY found one of my camera cords that I thought had been packed far, far away in storage (with everything else our movers finally delivered a week ago... only took them more than a month!)  I uploaded pics today and realized I had some backlogged outfits. This is a preggo one, and having worn this shirt again just a few days ago and thinking of how big I felt when these pics were taken... let's just say I'm apalled! Rapid growth!

Top: H&M ($5!)
Shorts: J.Crew
Shoes: Tory Burch
Necklace: Forever 21 ($5 too!)

Big flowy shirts like this are my new bff because they can be layered on top of boring maternity tanks and then worn again later!

On to this week's beauty product... I had tried the Sally Hansen Salon Effects before and even though I got them on a bit ghetto, they lasted until I basically went crazy and peeled them off.  I got these pink sparkly ones on much easier, BUT they lasted a day. Literally.  I could have gotten a manicure for the same price.  I didn't even get to take a clear picture of them on my nails!

Needless to say, I think my love affair with these guys was a just fling!

This Weekend...

This weekend was a busy one! It was my mom's birthday so I made a huge meal one night then we headed down to the shore and out for a family dinner another night! These pics probably sum it all up best...

My shopping buddy letting me know everything off our list!

Snuggle buddies on the car ride (it took a while to get to this point)

This is where the missing chunk of cake came from!

This is my outfit from dinner...

Dress: Victoria's Secret
Shoes: Tory Burch
Bag: Hammitt
Earrings: Random boutique

Got these at a little boutique at the shore for $35 and I have been wearing them nonstop! Coral matches so much!

Side shot just to note the immense belly.  I'm all about inexpensive maxi dresses right now and Victoria's Secret makes some great ones that go on awesome sales!

How was YOUR weekend?

Pinkspiration!

There was so much PINK out there this week but unfortch I couldn't get ahold of all the pictures.

Emma Stone - pink pumps

Blair Waldorf - pink pumps/Serena - blush sequins

Ivanka Trump - pink heels

Khloe Kardashian - Pink and leopard

Anyone else spotting a trend here?? I think it is time for me to get some pink pumps and stat! The pink Tory Burch flip flops aren't going to be cutting it for much longer!  Also, my love of hot pink and leopard was re-affirmed by KK!

Happy weekend all :)
