Beauty: At Home Facial Tools

Now that I have entered my dread thirties with another birthday creeping around the corner, I have started to spend a lot more time on my skin.  I have a horrible fear of aging and wrinkles are far worse than gray hair in my book.  Not that I am saying there is anything wrong with showing signs of aging or a wrinkle or two - in my head I would look like I did nothing but smoke cigarettes and sit in the sun - basically looking exactly like Magda in There's Something About Mary.  I also don't have time to get regular facials, which the year old gift certificate for one would suggest.  Therefore, I have had to adapt, and by adapt I mean take business into my own hands.  I am a sales person's worst nightmare when I hit Sephora or the Neiman Marcus beauty department because I ask questions about absolutely everything.  I want to know how, what, why, and so on about every product and what I need to do to keep my skin tight, young, wrinkle-free and not dry as the Sahara.

These, my friends, are my tools or what hours of harassing poor innocent beauty consultants will get you.  I use these on a rotating basis at least once a week.  My skin feels better than it did five years ago and I can go out knowing I gave it the good old college try!

I use ExfoliKate with my Clarisonic for the deepest cleaning known to man.  Maybe not, but in my shower it feels like it.  This Amore Pacific Enzyme Peel also smooths and exfoliates like crazy and is a decent price point compared to the rest of their line.  This is how you get rid of those old cells and dig out the nice, new ones. The Clarisonic Mia is used on the daily, but with the ExfoliKate for a supersize scrub down.  I love to end some intense exfoliation with Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Mask which slap on and leave on overnight.  My skin always feels baby bottom soft in the am. For a cheap fix, I use a Derma Roller before applying any serums or masks, etc.  It feels weird the first few times you use it, but things just sink deeper into your skin after. The Arbonne Cellular Renewal Masque and Arbonne Intense Hydration Mask are another pair I like to use for exfoliation and moisturizing.

Clearly I have a pattern of exfoliating and moisturizing or scrubbing and slathering.  I will say that all of these products make my skin feel delicious and save me lots of time.

Hey, a girls gotta do what she's gotta do!

  1. Yes! I am an Arbonne enthusiast turned consultant and those masques are both amazing! Granted, I love all their products. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Lindsay, take it a bit easy on the exfoliating. More isn't always better - remember, you are treating your beautiful, delicate skin, not your kitchen floor. That said, if you love the feel of the Arbonne Cellular Renewal Masque and the Arbonne Intense Hydration Masque, just wait until you get your hands on Genuis from Arbonne. It really is, well, Genius.
