Thanksgiving is one of the best times of the year to stop and truly think about all the good things in our lives.  I easily forget to do this on a daily basis, but when a holiday like Thanksgiving comes along it really makes me look at all of the things in my life which I have to be grateful for every day of the year.   I am so grateful for my awesome husband and my crazy little kiddos who give me endless smiles and laughter.

My life would be so dull without these crazies and for all of that sparkle they bring to me daily I am beyond grateful.

I found some doozies this week.  Like laugh out loud and spittake good.  What better way to put together all of the links constantly popping up on your Facebook feed than here?  Good ahead, laugh, reminisce, and treasure your Costco membership.

Life: Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! Please excuse my unplanned little break.  I just wasn't feeling too much of anything last week ifyaknowhatImean.  We have been jam-packed with activities and traveling, and some nice person stealing Josh's car, so I am totally off my game.  And the weather this week... oh my word.  It was warm, then rainy, then freezing.  I don't even know how to dress anymore!

On Saturday, we took the kids to ride on Thomas.  I have never seen Greyson so happy in his little life.  This kid lives for trains and he didn't care that it was frigid out because he was too busy squealing with excitement.

The train was out in Amish country and the kids were totally thrilled with all of the horses and buggies (boogies according to Avery) driving past us and farm work being done.  The little things are always the best things.  We went to a buffet - which, if you know me, is not something I love - and this was what Avery chose to eat...

That girl cracks me up.  My glitterific Matt Bernson bootie finally arrived!  I was so giddy when the UPS man rang my doorbell.

This is a horrible picture but you get the idea.  Glitter makes everything better. Duh!

Have a happy week!

Life: Weekend in Pictures

Happy Monday dolls!  This weekend was jam-packed and so fun!  We took a quick road trip for some family and friend time.  I love a busy weekend because it feels good to go, go, go for a couple of days then get back to your normal schedule.  I know, I'm weird.  We started Friday morning off super early with bagels and Mickey for these two.  It was apparently all very serious business...

We squeezed in some holiday shopping and saw way way WAY too many holiday decorations.  And Santa.  I just can't get ready for the holidays before I do Thanksgiving.  I need my holidays and seasons compartmentalized.

I also realized that I have one go-to night out look. I literally have worn this three times in the last month.  I also keep my mouth open when I take pictures of myself.

We had an awesome date night with some of the most delicious food and a gluten free menu!  Perfection!

We got in a couple of train rides on Sunday which made my train-loving little man so ridiculously happy.

And I got my first Peppermint Mocha of the season.  Sorry PSL!  Avery also wanted me to snap a shot of her nails.  She's a blogger in training!

One of our meals out consisted of my son eating butter.  Just butter.  Nothing else appeased him.  At least he only had one pad of it?

Speaking of awesome weekend accomplishments like butter-eating and Starbucks-chugging, my brother and sister-in-law ran the Philadelphia Marathon!  I lived vicariously through them and counted it as my workout for the day.  Legit, right?

Finally, Avery finished her weekend off with a bowl of spaghetti.  The sights and sounds of my little girlfrand housing her noodles is special.  Just special.

And that is that!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday lovelies!  I'm linking up with so many fabulous bloggers for Five on Friday again!

 1.  Jessica Alba's Dress

This dress.  I die.  It is literally one of the most perfect gowns I have ever laid eyes on.  I just need to figure out how to get my hands on this... and possibly have a reason to wear it.  Would I go back, do my wedding all over and wear this gown? You betcha!  Sometimes you just spot something so gorgeous you know it will bring you happy, fashion-filled thoughts to get you through those gloomy sweatpants and messy hair kind of days!
. . .

2.  Little girl fashion

We gave Avery this sparkly little purse as a birthday gift and she has been carrying it with her everywhere.  She almost always has gum, chapstick and an old cell phone in it.  It is so sparkly and sweet and makes me miss childhood and appreciate hers even more.  It really is the little things isn't it?
. . .

3. White pumpkins

For some reason I have never bought a white pumpkin before this year and now I am hooked. I have sick, twisted fantasies of a slew of white pumpkins in various sizes on our porch next year and a white pumpkin and silver tablescape for Thanksgiving.  It's a downward spiral I tell you!
. . .

4.  DIY Wall Art

We just moved Avery's room all around and had some suddenly naked wall space.  How to solve the problem when you have a very picky child (and mother.  Maybe.)  and way too many Ikea frames on hand?  Give your five year old a paintbrush and some mommy-approved paint colors, leave the room, pour yourself a glass of wine (a big one) and hope for the best.  The art is fabulous.  The paint stains on my kitchen table? Not quite as fabulous.
. . .

5.  Fireplace Season

I am certain I would not buy my dream home if it did not come with a fireplace.  I love fireplaces.  Like creepy, stalker, try to make my husband light one nightly kind of love.  We used our fireplace for the first time this past week and now I want more! Every night!  It is more soothing than a bubble bath before bed.  As Britney so eloquently put it: gimme more!

That is my week in a nutshell... or the best parts I can remember!  Have a happy weekend loves!

I Heart Links

These pictures are crazy and probably so true!  I mean, does a fairy tale princess expect it to stay that way forever? Well, yes! Don't we all?!
. . .

This just explains so much in my life. SO much.  I can say that almost all of these things seem to have happened to me at some point.  Oof.
. . .

This is so moving.  The back story and the makeover this man undergoes can bring you to tears.  It is so special and gives me such a good reminder about being good to and for others.
. . .

As a hardcore Instagrammer, I think this is spot on and hilarious!
. . .

I think this is a fantastic list! Of course, not all of it is necessarily something to agree upon, but what about all of those little things you never think about?

. . .

Happy reading lovelies!
