Granola Bites

Does anyone else think it is so hard to find easy, healthy, clean, gluten free snacks?  Yes, I realize that fruit and vegetables fit the bill, but sometimes I want something with some more oomph to it.  And, yes, I want chocolate often.  I have seen so many variations of snack balls both cooked and raw all over my favorite cookbook, Pinterest, but many of them had coconut or other ingredients I wasn't feeling.  These little gems are my favorite parts of a couple recipes mixed together.

{  Ingredients  }
1 cup quick cooking organic oats
1/2 cup ground flax or flax meal
4 heaping tablespoons natural nut butter (or more to taste)
4 tablespoons honey or agave (or more to taste)
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

{  Directions  }
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl
- Mix into balls of your size choosing
- Set on a plate and let refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
- Eat and enjoy!

The best part is that these are something our entire family will eat!  I can make a batch and have them for a few days!  There are lots of these recipes on Pinterest and other blogs so I highly recommend finding which one fits your taste buds best and experimenting!

This & That

Happy Thursday tootsies!  I can't believe how fast the last couple weeks of summer are flying by!  We are coming home for a day and getting ready to leave - again.  Before we headed out to the woods this past week we made the executive decision to give my little tiny bebison boy baby his first buzz cut.  I am still not okay with it.  I miss his locks.  However, heading into prime deer tick territory and knowing how much my little guy loves to run around outdoors we thought it was for the best. This one time.  Tear.

. . .
On our way out I decided to try a maple donut.  I'm probably the only person who has never had one.  I like to get on the bandwagon way late in the game.  Greyson ended up eating most of it since DD is clearly not diet or gluten friendly.

. . .
Avery scored herself her first pair of closed toe princess heels.  She has literally been sleeping in them.  I remember falling asleep in my heels several times because I was having so much fun in them (as a grown up...)

. . .
I finally got my Lilly sale goodies! It is the best sale. The best.

. . .
Excuse the creepy close up picture of ma face, but I am trying to branch out with bright lipstick.  I have suffered from a major fear of color on my lips my entire life, save for the frosty lips of the late 90's.  I think this pink is a good little transition.

. . .
Josh and I squeezed in a date night in New Hampshire and stuffed our faces with so much deliciousness.  My word I love to eat.  I also love dirty martinis that are served with blue cheese stuffed olives.  Vicki Gunvalson really knows what is up with her a good cocktail!

. . .
I saw this adorable dress on the daughter from Revenge and am trying to find something similar for my birthday this year.  Help a girl out if you see anything similar!

This is Life

We have been climbing, hiking, boating, and playing like crazy and I am TIRED.  Why is traveling so fun and exhausting at the same time?  Having fun is exhausting!

I also have eaten my weight in icecream.  Healthy living starts Monday!

This is Life

Beware of my posts this week... they are going to be picture heavy!  We have been in New Hampshire, continuing to travel our little butts off this week.  We also had no cell service or internet where we were for a bit so it has been very interesting to say the least!  Lessons learned:  I need to find better ways to amuse my children on car rides, nature is beautiful, I love wine.  Let the pictures do the talking!

Prepare for a week full of pictures!

Shopaholic

4.  Greylin Print Pant  ||  5. Rachel Pally Dress  ||  6. Tory Burch flats  ||  7. Grey Dress

I love fall.  3/4 of our little family was born in fall and our anniversary is in fall, so it is always full of celebrations.  What better reason to buy some new goodies for your wardrobe then upcoming celebrations?  A change in temperature doesn't hurt either.  These Tory Burch flats are fun and neutral at the same time and would look great and feel comfortable paired with either Soft Joie dress.  Btw, Soft Joie is my newest love!  Great clothing at even greater prices.  The Asos peplum tee is also a fantastic price and would be so easy chic with skinny jeans.  I think I may need a couple!  The Rachel Pally dress would be perfect for a fall wedding or a NYE party (how can I already be thinking of that?)  The Greylin pants would be the biggest splurge, but with a pant that fun, how could you not?  I would throw the Stella and Dot necklace on with anything here and be good to go!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Pinterest... IRL!

Even though we are in the midst of a travel spree with the occasional half-day stop at home, I have been (sort of) keeping up with my attempts to put Pinterest to use in real life, recipes aside.  Remember these two pins?

Well, I actually made them happen, right down to the actual plastic bins for toys from Wally World!

Baby steps here my friends!  This is what is currently in progress...

Which leads me to some of my new favorite pins!

All of this just makes me think of how we survived before Pinterest? Did I do actual magazine reading and tear pages out?  Oh Pinterest, you make my heart so happy!

Happy Thursday loves!

Virginia Trip

Another day, another adventure right?  Today is the end of our Virginia trip to visit Josh's sister and the kiddos' cousins.  The older the kids get, the more fun they have... and they sleep GREAT!

We went to a farm for fresh produce...

Took a lovely group stroll...

 Rode in style...

Experimented with glasses...

Got to watch our favorite show, Thomas the Tank Engine...

And experienced our first splash pad!

We definitely need a splash pad and motorized toy car of some sort!  It's amazing what a change of scenery can do for you!  I'm also a big fan of the idea of buying fresh produce at local farms!

Wish us luck on our next long ride today!
