Five on Friday

Happy first Friday of the year!  Also known as the last weekend before cleansing (yay!) On this lovely snow day I'm sharing my top five "things" of the week.  I need to use the term things loosely here because this week was all over the place and so random.  I'm linking up with April, Darci, Natasha and Christina for the Five on Friday!

1.  Bagels
Yes, bagels.  I haven't had a good old gluten-filled bagel in a very long time and managed to eat two this week.  I ate them because my kids live for them and I was SO hungry.  My personal favorite is covered in veggie cream cheese and loads of veggies.  Sooo good.  I could eat that every day for lunch, seriously.  Plus, I will eat pretty much anything that makes those two smile so much.

2.  New Years Even Swing Dress
I love, love, love my New Year's Eve dress from Asos and it is on super sale now!  I ordered this for our holiday party and it didn't arrive in time (boo hiss) but NYE was as perfect a time as any to put it to good use.  I may or may need to go back and order a few more of the infamous Asos swing dresses.
3.  New Years Eve
I love New Years Eve lately.  I used to hate it before we had kids because it was so played up and it was an expensive disaster most of the time (Big Night San Diego anyone?)  Now that we have kids we have always had plans with friends (which I'm sure I just jinxed) and I love how exciting Avery and Greyson think it is.  A few dollars spent at Party City and some water in plastic champagne flutes may be the greatest thing that has ever happened to them.  Holidays are best viewed through a child's eyes.

These fleece-lined leggings are my new favorite purchase.  They are so comfy, so warm, and fit so well.  I got mine on Jane and also scored another pair in cable knit last week.  They are always available at Ocean Ave Boutique.  Get them, you will love them!

 5.  Snow Day Food
So we are on to yet another snow day already this year.  After four years in Syracuse, I am pretty neutral to snow, yet I love the staples that a cozy day spent indoors require.  We found some delicious pink peppermint marshmallows that Avery and I have been tossing into our all too frequent hot cocoas.  Bottoms up!

We already have a solid six inches on the ground and it is only 12 degrees out.  Brr!!  Hope everyone has a fabulous, snowy weekend!

  5. Hi! New to the blog and glad I found it through the link up. We just moved to NYC and are experiencing our first real cold snow days this week, too! Love the rug in your bedroom and we've been looking for one like it--mind sharing where you found it? Happy weekend!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! This is the worst winter we have had since I moved back. Maybe it means early Spring? The rug is actually from my parents'. I think my mom had it made through her interior designer. I got something not to dissimilar from Hope Depot last year that was in our living room until my kids destroyed it!
