Five on Friday

Happy Friday lovelies! Today I am linking up with AprilChristinaNatasha, and Darci for Five on Friday once again!
1.  Shepherd's Pie
I know that is a totally random thing to love, but I have been loving it all week long.  I made one this past weekend when we had some friends over for dinner and ate the left overs all week long.  It is literally one of my favorite things to eat, maybe because I eat like a man? (meat and potatoes anyone?)  I had to search through a bunch of recipes and kind of put a few together to make one, but I am literally thinking about making another one this weekend for the week.  So hungry!

2.  Moscow Mules
These are my new drink of choice.  They are super easy to make - two shots of vodka (Tito's!), some ice, some ginger beer to taste and a couple of splashes of lime juice.  Perfection!  I really, really want to pick up these mule mugs to take my obsession even further.  Wouldn't they make Saturday nights even cuter?  I can't wait until summer and be outside on the patio sipping these babies!

3. Double Trouble
Avery and Greyson have been playing together really well this week.  They have built forts, played games on the iPad, eaten most of the meals side by side... and thrown some massive tantrums together too.  It is like one of them gets the other going and then they just feed off of it.  What's better than one screaming child?  Two? No, definitely not better.  I am going to savor the sweet moments and try to Moscow Mule away the rest!

4.  Cheese Plates
For the most part I have been going easy on dairy during the day and splurging a little more at dinner and on the evenings.  Splurging to the extent I have made three cheese plates this week.  I just love them so much and am willing to forgo all meals for a cheese plate.  We definitely need to find a good local spot outside of the city with a killer charcuterie plate.  All recommendations welcome!  (also: add to the list of things I miss about Cali.)  Yes, I love cheese.  Love you so much!

5.  The Canadian Tuxedo
I finally put together a full denim Dan outfit this week and I kind of loved it.  I was super comfy and didn't care that I was head to toe denim-ing it. I added my pink sparkly flats to break it up since I am currently sans leopard flats (I changed that situation while wearing this outfit at the mall, however.)  I don't love this denim shirt and my hair was hideous that day, but the general idea was working I think.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

  1. I love moscow mules!! I really want to pick up some copper mugs this summer- I feel like they're such a good summer cocktail. Greyson and Avery sound just like me and my sister when we were little- hopefully you get more of the good calm moments this weekend. Cheese plates are amazing- I could have one every night for dinner if that was an option.

  3. Moscow mules are my favorite! And I had to scroll right past your cheese plate since I gave up cheese for Lent and I'm really missing it!! Loved the denim on denim look and I think you've inspired me to try it.. now only if it would warm up, it's not that fun getting dressed when you have to put on an ankle length coat! Happy Friday :)
