Happy BLACK Friday babes! I have so many amazing sales to share with you to get a jump on your holiday shopping, help you add to your closet, or just feed the shopping itch!
I am so thankful for each of you who takes the time to stop by and read or comment on my little corner of the blogosphere. You make my days brighter and I have met some amazing people!
So, apparently, Loft has been my new shopping destination of choice lately, but they can seem to do no wrong, especially when it comes to two of my favorite things in one: chambray + sweats. This isn't your typical, glammed up sweatshirt, this is a relaxed chambray top. It's swingy, light, yet warm, and it matches virtually anything - just watch out for the Canadian tuexdo overload Denim Dan!
It's no secret that I love leopard. On the pattern scale, it's a neutral. When I saw this beauty at Old Navy (I KNOW!) I needed it immediately. It's so comfortable and I love the pattern. I bought it in a size up to get a looser fit with a super skinny pant. My turquoise earrings from my latest Rocksbox (I cannot find them anywhere online unfortunately) go with everything in my opinion, so I naturally had to throw those on. Easy glam!
The fabulous Katie from Green Fashionista reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in her tour of Blogland, so of course I said yes! I loved reading about how she puts her blog together and am so flattered she asked me to share the same! Make sure you check her out, her blog is one of my daily reads - try not to be jealous of all the fun she has even at work!
1. What am I working on?
Right now I am working on Fall and Winter looks. These are the hardest seasons to style and shop for in my opinion, because don't we all just want to snuggle up in whatever is warmest? I'm working on finding new looks that are warm and chic! I am also working on approximately 654238 house projects so that I can post more of our new house! This blog definitely helps keep me accountable with that.
2. How does my work differ from others in its genre?
I don't know that my work differs drastically from other fashion and lifestyle bloggers BUT I like to think that the thing that makes me stand out the most is my personal voice coming through. I try to write like I converse, be it a little goofy.
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I write and create what I do because it is what I love. I love fashion. I love clothing. I love shopping (oops!) I love food. I love home decor. I love kids. I get to focus on what I truly enjoy and make something out of it on a daily basis. It just makes me happy!
4. How does my writing/creating process work.
I like to spend a day on each post. I write, edit, re-work, etc. I am always jotting down ideas and coming back to them. I will usually write a post, take a break from it, come back and revisit it and make any changes to it. Sometimes I write a little bit in advance, but in general it is almost always the day before to keep it fresh and real.
Now, I want you to all meet three fabulous ladies whose blogs I LOVE to read, and who I am so happy to have connected with through the blogosphere! Stop by and check them all out and I dare you not to make them all one of your daily reads!
Hi! I'm Annie
and blog over at Home of Malone's. I'm a 29 year old Wife (2.5 years)
and Mama to our baby boy, Brody (16 months old). You can find my daily
ramblings of all things that I love including family, fashion, food,
travel, and pretty much everything in between over on my blog. Come
follow along as I try to navigate our life and embrace my new role as a
SAHM.
I'm Stacy and I blog at Emily Kate. I am a wife and mother of three! I
have a passion for design and a love for all things chic, girly and
glam. My blog serves as a creative outlet for me to share design
inspirations, DIY ideas, beauty, style and the occasional recipe.
Hey There! I'm Katie and I blog over at Yellow Mango Life. I'm a
Midwestern mama working in casino marketing...while the only gambling I
like to do is on a good bargain. I love my boy Cruz, my main squeeze
Nick, nice people, a glass of vino and a good pair of heels. I'm
thankful for this life. And I love talking ALL about it!
I loved getting to "introduce" you to these lovely ladies and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Today is the day we finally talk about the big one. You know, that thing that has taken over everybody's brains this season... the blanket scarf! Seriously, I don't think I have ever heard or seen so much hype of a single accessory in... ever! I have to say, the blanket scarf definitely lives up to the hype, too. When it is sub zero temperatures like it basically is right now (aka 40 degrees) this baby gives you the added kick of warmth that a regular old scarf just can't do. I got mine from Asos and have been wearing basically nonstop.
HOWEVER, when I first tore open the package and tossed this baby on, I looked and felt like a very confused eskimo. It was warm and cozy but how the heck was I supposed to put it on? It was literally like wearing a blanket off of my bed around. Not chic!
Thank goodness for Google, YouTube, Pinterest, yada, yada.
Here is the trick: Fold the scarf in half in a giant triangle. Once you do that, the possibilities are endless. I basically wear it around my shoulders like that (SO snuggly!) or tie the ends like a traditional scarf. You can also turn it around so the large part of the triangle is in the front and tie from there.
Get a blanket scarf. They're not just trendy, they are SO. COZY. I wear mine around the house all day.
I like a plain, preferably swingy, long sleeved tee to wear with mine.
Happy hump day lovelies! This week's Shopaholic post moved up a day, and I am kind of loving the thought of all the goodies on my wish list for the middle of the week. We all need a little extra something to get us over that hump right?
Happy Tuesday lovelies! I'm linking up for the Thanksgiving holiday today and sharing some of my favorite goodies on my Holiday Pinterest board!
I usually host Thanksgiving, but this year I am taking the year off and spending it at my sister in law's house. As much as I love hosting, a year off is very welcomed and the chance to have a good old fashioned family holiday (say that in your best Clark Griswold voice) is something we are all looking forward to!
So in lieu of that, I am sharing some of my favorite pins, which are all basically food and decor. Is there really anything else though? (wink, wink)
I am seriously crushing on chiffon and other shirt trimmed tops. When I saw this one at Loft, I immediately snatched it up. It takes a regular long sleeve tee and ramps it up a notch. I have been restraining myself from buying all of the tops like this (literally, ALL) but this one is definitely doing a great job of holding me over until I get my hands on another one!
