Shopaholic

Ever since Caycee posted about this jumpsuit, I have not been able to stop thinking about it.  She is a beauty and I think I need her in my life.  I love the touch of pink and the fit!  Plus, isn't a good Polar Vortex the right time to start Spring/Summer shopping?

Have you all heard of this polish? I just found out about (I'm so behind!) and it sounds amazing! It isn't a gel, but is supposed to be much more chip resistant than regular old polish, plus the price tag is a lot less than gel polish.  Sign me up! This navy color is perfect for my current navy nail obsession.

These jeans are supposed to help suck things in and up.  I tried them on and definitely think they live up to their name... enough so that they may be on their way to me right now!  The only thing that bothered me, though, was the significant size difference in washes.  No one likes sizing up!

While I was checking out the Sevens (shout out to mom's day out!) I spotted this Joie beauty.  They (luckily?) didn't have my size, but that didn't stop me from repeatedly window shopping this patterned beauty online.

Beware: lots of JCrew ahead!  This is tunic length, merion, and swingy looking.  Aka I need it in every color yesterday.

Would you look at this beauty! Tortoise is my new everything!

Last JCrew beauty I promise.  I love, love, love metallic shoes, and this style is so everyday glam.  I probably should not go near JCrew anytime soon but I am SO ready for Spring and some new wardrobe options!

Don't forget, today is the last day to enter the Rodan+Fields Giveaway!

Life Lately

This is what we have been up to lately...

Eating sushi... kind of successfully.

Taking selfies (and saying cheeeeese!)

Getting winter manis (navy = new favorite!)

Tried to meal plan and pre-make healthy snacks...

Wore my booties through some seriously grey and salty snow.  Poor booties!

Rearranged and re-organized the toys for the zillionth time.  I live for stressing myself out!

Ate all of said pre-made snacks.  Oops!

Attempted gluten-free/clean eating chicken no-noodle soup...

And finished with a nice long nap with a couple of hats on because it is THAT cold out.

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Cleanse Update

Today I want to chat about the 24 Day Challenge Cleanse.  It is almost over and I wanted to check in on how I feel (minus a sinus infection) so I can remind myself why I'm doing this!  My energy is through the roof.  And that is all without my usual partner in crime, coffee.  I still crave coffee, but mostly for the smell and taste I think.  Maybe this coffee scented candle would help that?  But energy-wise, I'm like a different person.  I feel less grumpy and when I wake up I don't feel like a zombie.  I wake up awake.  It's a great feeling!  My workouts have been more intense and I feel better going into them and after them.  There is nothing worse than slogging through a workout you don't really want to be doing.  I also am fitting in my clothes way better than I was post-holidays!  I love eating clean, too.  I feel so much better, my skin looks better and I just feel lighter and happier when I know what I am putting in my body!  These are some of my typical meals...

Breakfast
Green smoothie

Two eggs, half a banana, scoop of guacamole

Oats, slivered almonds, banana, blueberries, cinnamon and liquid stevia

Lunch/Dinner
Tuna and white bean salad with tomatoes, avocado, and onion on endives (made with some olive oil)

Crockpot balsamic chicken and brown rice

Turkey meatballs and kale slaw

My lunches have pretty much been leftovers from our dinners the night before.  I don't think I have made a separate lunch yet and I am fine with that.  It makes my life so much easier!

I snack on a lot of veggies and fresh fruit and these oatmeal balls/cookies.

Bananas, oats, natural nut butter, flax and cinnamon

Pinterest has been my go-to for finding tasty clean recipes.  Other than that I have been doing a lot of playing around.  I think my tastebuds have come down off their sugar cookie binge and have a newfound love for veggies (yay!)  PLEASE send all recipes my way!

Have a fabulous day!

Grammy's In Review

Happy Monday everyone!  Today, we are talking Grammy's fashion.  Why? Because I watched the awards? Nope, I was way too distracted by the Bachelor wedding.  My poor husband.  I love awards shows but for some reason the Grammy's just don't do it for me.  I will not, however, miss a good red carpet.  It's such good inspiration!  I was pretty disappointed with this red carpet last night.  The stand outs were far and few between, and so much felt uninspired and too simple.  However, there were a few fabulous looks that I earmarked and want to remember!

I think Anna Faris was my favorite of the night.  Navy is so different and such a classic color.  It is so flattering on blondes (duh I always wear it!)

And then there was...

I also kind of didn't hate Madonna matching her son.  I'm such a cheeseball!

P.S. anyone else watch Sean and Catherine's wedding and hope to never hear the phrase "grown sexy" ever again?!

Have a fabulous week and don't forget to enter the Rodan+Fields Giveaway!

This and That

TGIF yo.  This week seemed so long.  It may have had something to do with the snow dumped on us and the fact that school and activities were pretty much cancelled every day.  I go stir crazy very easily and apparently so do my children.  I wake up with my eyes practically crossed from looking at the walls of our house for so long.  Seriously, every since we left California I am about 99 percent certain I have developed seasonal affective disorder.  No joke peeps, no joke.

At least Greyson was super snuggly!  Avery also discovered that she can watch movies on my computer which makes her seem way too old.

I literally wore pajamas all day every day most of the week.  JCrew had so much good lounge wear on sale, luckily!

When we did venture out, it was to Target (duh) and I spotted this beauty in the clearance section.  Not sure if it is big enough though...

Avery made it to school one day this week and Greyson and I had a mini lunch date.  He took two bites of a bagel and dropped it on the floor, which happened to be covered in outdoor salt so I freaked out and tossed that ring of gluten so fast.

Also, note my son is wearing zero socks.  He took them off in the car over and over until I finally gave up and thought I would let him learn his lesson.  He clearly didn't.

I got my next order of fleece-lined leggings and wore the grey ones yesterday.  Pretty much a fancier version of the pajamas I wore all week.

All this time indoors has led me to some awesome links...

I know I'm a little late on the last one, but it's pretty darn hilarious and could pass as a birthday list too.

Happy, happy weekend! Fingers crossed for no more snow and a very happy birthday my bestie!

Rodan+Fields Beauty Giveaway!

You guys! It has been way too since I have done a giveaway, but I think 2014 is going to be the year of the giveaway!  This time we are focusing on skin care, and one of my new favorite brands, Rodan+Fields! " Rodan+Fields was started by the creators of Proactiv®-Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields. They are now doing for anti-aging, what they once did for acne."  Laura of Kitty and June is kind enough to offer you all a 60 day supply of the REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum.

Laura was kind enough to send me some samples of the product to try and I am in love! f you know me, then you know that I am addicted to any sort of lip moisturizer (it's a real problem, like blonderexia.)  This serum made my lips feel baby-bum soft and stayed on.  My biggest problem with chapsticks and lip moisturizers is how fast they wear off.  The Rodan+Fields Lip Renewing Serum stayed on better than any other product I have tried.  Such a fabulous product!

A little info about the lip serum: "When it comes to lips, time and the environment take their toll in a profound way. The smooth, naturally full, defined lips that nature gives us will, over time, become thinner, flatter, less rosy and more lined. Reclaim or maintain the lips of youth with REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum. Each peptide and antioxidant-rich capsule helps lips retain natural moisturizing factors, smoothes lip texture and reduces the appearance of lip wrinkles."

Take a skin consultation quiz here to find out what products are best for you and get started on a skin care regime!  Make sure to enter below to win!  The winner will be announced on January 31st.

Also, you guys!! Rodan + Fields has a fabulous preferred customer program.  For a one time enrollment fee of $19.95  you can get free shipping and 10 percent off anytime you place an order.  This enrolls you in a two month auto-ship program, but your order can easily be changed, cancelled or delayed.  Laura is offering a $20 gift card right now to anyone who enrolls in the program!  Check out her site here!

Taste: Egg Muffins

There is nothing I love more than an easy recipe that I make in large quantities for future meals.  I have seen so many versions of egg muffins on Pinterest and blogs and decided to try my hand at them.  I used what I had on hand for this.  You could easily substitute or add in different meats and vegetables.  This is a great way to make breakfast for the week and use up veggies in the refrigerator.

Ingredients
  • Two handfuls of spinach, chopped
  • All natural turkey sausage, cooked and sliced small (I used six small)
  • Two cups egg whites plus two eggs
  • Pinches of salt and pepper

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 365
  • Mix egg white and eggs with salt and pepper until well blended.
  • Spray muffin tins (I need new ones!) with nonstick cooking spray
  • Layer spinach on bottom of muffin tins.
  • Add sausage on top of spinach
  • Top with eggs
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until eggs cooked through

I topped mine with Trader Joe's fresh salsa daily and ate these all last week.  I'm planning on making another batch when I get new muffin tins!

Have a fabulous day!
