Let's talk about Target on this lovely little Friday babes. If I had to pick any single store where I could go and consistently leave with an item of clothing (not shoes or accessories) at any given time, I think we all know that place would be Tarjay. You can get something cute and trendy at crazy affordable prices without fail. I have some things from there in my closet that I have owned for years and years and gotten more bang for my buck from than anything else in my closet.
My favorite bullseye has been so on point with the clothing this Spring and Summer. Although a lot of it skews much younger (think crop tops) I have been able to find some super fun tops, dresses, and bottoms, to fill my trendiness craving, including this adorable top.
and in case you want to see my serious condition of resting bitch face...
You guys. This recipe. It has changed the way I look at breakfast. After reading a similar recipe from Amanda I played around with the ingredients a tiny bit until I became mildly addicted to this particular one. A lot of the recipes call for cinnamon, but I am a traditionalist when it comes to my pancakes. I love pancakes. I love them hard and I like to try to make the healthiest version of pancakes that taste as similar to the unhealthy versions as possible.
This recipe packs a lot of punch thanks to the eggs (protein), spinach (all of the vitamins) and flaxseed (omega 3's.) I make sure to use only organic ingredients to make them even healthier.
I top with a drizzle of organic maple syrup and a little bit of organic, grass-fed butter. This keeps you full, especially when served with a side of egg whites or lean turkey bacon. It's a great all-around meal and it's gluten free!
1 banana, the riper/browner the better!
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup spinach
1 tablespoon ground/milled flaxseed
Throw all of your ingredients in a blend
Blend until smooth
Pour over a lightly grease skillet heated to low/medium
So I woke today thinking it was Tuesday... guess how excited I am that it is actually Wednesday?! Who is with me for mandatory three day weekends every weekend!
Today is all about my all-time favorite combo ever: sweaters and shorts. Any weather that requires this pairing is the perfect weather in my book. I love a great lightweight sweater and J.Crew consistently makes my favorites. They change the styles, colors and shapes every season, but you can always find something loose, swingy and light at any given time. Paired with a soft, dressier short, and it is like wearing pajamas in public.
Good morning lovelies! Today's post comes from a conversation I was having with my bestie a few days ago. We were chatting about all of the toxic ingredients in our food, household products, and (GASP!) our makeup and beauty products. We have both been proactive about de-toxifying our lives, but I know she is a few steps ahead of me in the makeup and cosmetics arena. This made me stop and think about what I am putting on my skin every single day.
Our skin is the largest organ in the human body. Putting chemicals with potentially unknown longterm side effects filled with ingredients I cannot even begin to pronounce onto my largest organ (a fairly absorbent one at that) scares me.
I started browsing through the ingredients on some of my lotions in my medicine cabinet and on the makeup I use on a daily basis - which I had to look up, because they are generally only listed on the initial packing. Most of my thoughts were - what the hell IS this?!
In an effort to CLEAN up my act in the beauty and cosmetics part of my life I have been on the hunt for great organic and all natural products. Here is what I have been using:
This is the mac daddy of them all. It works as an eye makeup remover, a face moisturizer, a body moisturizer and a great deep conditioner (just don't put it on wet hair, DRY ONLY!) I use it on myself and the kids. It has definitely helped my severely dry skin on my face, makes my cuticles fanfreakingtastic, and gives your legs an unbeatable glow. The best bang for your organic buck!
This certified organic luminizer has a minimal list of ingredients and gives an amazing glow on the cheekbone, eyelid or center of your lips. The entire brand is organic and has minimal ingredients and is a brand I am buying more and more from (lip moisturizer and concealer are my newest purchases!)
I fell in love with this delicious scent on a trip to Maui and have been wearing it consistently since. I also love the brand's body wash and body lotion, both of which are made without sulfates or parabens. These are two things I also try to stay away from in products! Watch out for them in your lotions, hair products, shampoos and conditioners.
Tarte is one of the best makeup brands for those of us looking for paraben-free, eco-friendly, natural makeup brands. It's tools are the same, and this is the best foundation brush I have ever used hands down. I have been eyeing a lot of their makeup and will be switching out most of my current products to theirs. P.S. they're all gluten free too!
I recently discovered the Tata Harper brand at Neiman Marcus. It is made in America, has a list of recognizable ingredients and is free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates. I have been using the cleanser and toner and really love it. I see such a difference in using natural products, particularly on my face. This brand is a little pricier, but I really feel like this is worth the money for the results.
Here is are some of my go-to products and a bunch of things currently sitting in my shopping cart (see ya old toxic makeup!)
Now, don't get me wrong, just like with food, there are some guilty pleasures that I can't fully give up. I can make sure I do them with less frequency, but there are times when a gel manicure is the only thing that is going to cut it, or my beloved eyelash extensions. As with everything, we must pick and choose our battles, but I believe in choosing the simplest, healthiest choices as often as I possibly can.
Have a fabulous day!

Happy Memorial Day Monday! Let's all be thankful for those who have served our country today.
I stumbled across this little list, and thought it would great to share, whether you are a mom or not. With the unofficial start of Summer here, I know that this is something I need to read and remember. I have never enjoyed wearing a bathing suit since I had kids, and I know as women, we do far too much comparing to each other, and worrying about how we look.
I want to print this list out and put it on my bathroom mirror (don't worry Josh, I won't) but I think for many of us, these are words we need to read every so often. You are all beautiful, no matter what you think, so rock that bathing suit ALL summer long ladies!
I love denim. I remember buying my first pair of Seven's way back in college and treasuring them, because they were my first pair of "designer denim" and they fit like a glove. The best part? The low waist and perfectly lightly opened boot leg. Fast forward to today and I can't even fathom wearing a low rise anything and for a few years, a bootcut leg was completely out of the question.
Then I found these jeans and it was love at first sight. They sit up higher (and all the mama's said hooray!) and have the perfect amount of bootcut in a dark wash that makes you feel confident, sassy and ready to take on the world. Boot cuts and flares are making their way back to the mean stream and I am ready to fully embrace their return.
Happy Thursday babes! This week's Shopaholic is a little late because EVERYTHING I love keeps selling out. I know, first world problems. I am obsessed with everything on this list, but the sunglasses are at the tippy top of the list. They. Are. Everything! If anyone finds that bathing suit anywhere else please send it to me! I have a pair of the Lilly beach pants from last year and love them. They are so fun to lounge in or toss on for a night at the beach. I think this pattern is one of their best recently!
It's one of the happiest times of the year! So close to Christmas, but it is the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale! And all of the fashionistas said amen! This is a great time to stock on some basics (Tory Burch, Hunter, Jack Rogers) or shop fun looks for the Summer!
The sale runs through the 31st, but things are already selling out fast!
True story: stripes make me happy. Today is all about my favorite patterns to mix: stripes and leopards. How can two things that seem so different be so right together?! I snagged this dress on sale, but it has gone on even more sale (40% off!) so make sure you grab it while it's hot! I love how effortless it is - I toss it on and instantly feel put together. My shoes and earrings are the only real accessories I need. I love easy dressing, put your hand up if you're with me!
