5 Days Of Smoothies

It's no secret that I am kind of a Smoothie addict.  They're one of my favorite ways to eat breakfast and my go-to weekday breakfast.  I keep a few premade ones in our fridge for the days when things are completely insane and I don't have time to make one or will be eating on the go.  For the most part, I try to make one every morning Monday through Friday.

I rounded up my favorite recipes I make regularly to share with you guys.  There is one for each day of the week because, variety is the spice of life amIrightoramIright?!

As far as instructions go, start with your liquid, then add in everything else and blend, blend, blend!

Day 1

  • 1/4 cup organic rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries (can use fresh and ice instead)
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1 scoop strawberry protein powder (vanilla also works!)

Day 2

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 large handful baby spinach

Day 3

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 scoop vegan chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons PB2 or other powdered peanut butter
  • 1/2 banana
  • Handful of ice
  • 1 large handful of ice

Day 4

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon cacao nibs
  • 1/2 banana
  • Handful of ice

Day 5

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon matcha (green tea) powder
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 large handful spinach

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Some notes:

- I generally stick to vegan protein powders.  Sometimes, I won't, but my favorites are Shakeology and Vega One.
- And yes, I always add protein.  If I don't, I am just a ravenous food monster.
- I almost always use unsweetened vanilla almond milk.  If you prefer dairy, go for it!
- I don't love my smoothies too thick, so I often add in a little water as I am blending.  Eyeball it and add in a little bit at a time until it is the consistency that you prefer.
- I use my Vitamix and can't say enough good things about it!

Let me know if you try any of these recipes and what you think of them!

  1. Love all these ideas! The strawberry one sounds soo good. I make the same matcha one, but love the idea of adding spinach! Btw I just discovered Silk's cashew milk. It is only 25 calories and amazing! I love it in coffee. I've been making peanut butter banana smoothies lately blended with a little dark chocolate. How do you make yours? In a blender. I recently got an immersion blender and I love it, because I hate cleaning out the big blender cup lol. xo

  2. We smoothie lovers too (and Vitamix fans) we make them about 3 times a week. They are so good for you! We make a few similar ones - and now I think I'm going to make one this morning ;)

  5. I really wish I could make smoothies in the morning before work but I get up over and hour before my husband so using the blender is not an option :( I love the idea of adding protein to it too! So many great recipes!

  7. These all look delicious, I make several variations too! This morning I made one that was 4 oz almond milk, 4 oz Fairlife chocolate milk, 1/2 packet Advo chocolate meal shake, a serving of the Nuts n More Toffee Crunch spread & ice. I was craving something decadent today, it was heaven.

  12. Yes to almond milk and vegan protein powders!!! Isn't it crazy how much cholesterol is in regular protein powder?
