At Home Cardio Workouts

I don't know about you guys, but this Summer has been pretty hectic and a lot busier than I expected.  We are traveling a lot and I am spending my days doing work and shuttling kids around.  I am always trying to squeeze in classes at the gym, but some days there just isn't time. 

 I spent a lot of time searching for at home cardio workouts that do not require any equipment and get the job done aka the calories burned.  I have weights at home that I do and incorporate all of these different at home cardio routines with.  I usually start with one of these cardio routines then do some weights and average around 300 to 350 calories burned in 45 minutes, sometimes more depending on the cardio.  

All of these workouts incorporate the same basic moves (jumping jacks, burpees, jumping rope in place, high knees, etc.) and truth be told, I find them to be better burners than the elliptical.  They're not always easy, but if you're looking for a way to get a great, heart-pumping workout in at home, give one of these a try!

After trying these a few times, I have started making up my own.  I usually will set my phone's stop watch and do 30 second and one minute intervals.  If I am doing weights, some days I will do a couple minutes of these in between sets to keep my heart rate up and increase my burn.

I am not a trainer, so please make sure you contact your medical professional before beginning any sort of workout program.

  1. I seriously need to do all of these. Like right now. In my office. I've ate SO bad the past two weeks, I gained 4 lbs... ugh. I mean seriously, who gains 4 lbs in two weeks!? Cardio here I come...
