Wino Wednesday

Happy Wednesday winos!  Today, Amanada and I are so excited to do something a little different and have Jenn co-hosting with us.  We are also so excited to participate in the link-up Jenn and XXXX  are hosting today!

Grab the button below, drink up, and link up!

Since Summer is really ending (sniff, sniff) I figured I had better get my light, fun whites in while I can before red season kicks into high gear.  Since I am a big fan of the mini cans of Sofia champagne, I picked up the bottle of Sofia Riesling to try.

This was a great Riesling, definitely on the sweeter side as most are, and a perfect wine for a spritzer (which I cannot get enough of this Summer!)  It's nothing crazy outstanding, but if you're a Riesling drinker or prefer your whites on the sweeter side this is for you.  I probably wouldn't buy this again for straight up sipping, but I definitely would for making a wine cocktail or a spritz.

pinned a bunch of fun wine lists and ideas I found, too!  Pinterest is a great way to brush up on wine knowledge, pairings and ideas for all of those unused corks (c'mon, I know there are lots!)

Bottom: hereherehere and here

I may be so obsessed that I have an entire board devoted just to wine.  You can follow me on Pinterest HERE!

Cheers lovelies! -xo

  4. I saw that one at the store and thought about trying it but now I'm worried it might be too sweet. Might have to make a spritzer or punch with it! Thanks for the suggestion!

  8. I just had that Sofia Riesling for the first time over the weekend and I agree, it's sweeter than most Rieslings but perfect for spritzers! Obsessed with the bottle too haha!

  10. The cans are super cute! Glad to know about this wine though - unless I was mixing it with something I wouldn't buy it. xoxo

  11. I can't really do sweet wines on their own, but I like mixing them with some sort of carbonated water to cut down on the sweetness. I'll have to check this one out!

  12. The Sofia cans are so cute. I have a friend that introduced me to them this summer. Great for the boat or beach! I'm with you though, can do sweet unless it is a dessert wine like a Sauterne.
    Have a great day!

  14. I am usually a red drinker but in the Summer I definitely like to mix whites with something fizzy and make a little spritzer if you will ;-)

  16. You always have the prettiest bottles of wine. I would buy just for that alone. I too have a wine board on Pinterest. I like your pairing lists too. Thanks for hosting another month.

  17. When too sweet, YES to making it a spritzer! I don't think I'd pick this up but I'm glad to know you can tweak it for your taste preferences. Girl, bring on fall; it's hotter than Hades here...
