This little guy has been giving me a run for my money lately. He woke as sassy as could be on his fourth birthday and hasn't stopped since. I take back everything bad I said about three, because four is legit.
Avery has been a little love bug lately, though. Her attitude is starting to calm down (fingers crossed) and she has been such a mama's girl lately. I can never say no to one on one time with her or snuggles. Am I the only one who misses their kids the second they go to school?
I'm on such a kick with layered necklaces. Whenever I wear just one I feel like I'm naked. Not really, but I need MORE! I have always been pretty subtle about my jewelry, but I'm in a total bring it all on mood lately and I'm just going to roll with it. Don't laugh if you see me strutting around rocking five necklaces, it's my thing!
I have gotten back into my Barre groove lately, and have been getting two or three classes in a week. It's such an amazing workout and I can definitely feel my body changing even after a couple of weeks. I'm all about that barre... and bar ;)
We went to Atlantic City for a friend's surprise birthday party, which was SO fun and I finally snagged this dress. I love it BUT it doesn't unwrinkle easily (clearly!) and I need to get it altered so that the closure isn't as high. I mean, I had to wear it all night for the wrinkles to disappear and my go-to shower steam trick didn't work at all.
Josh always asks me why I don't post more pictures of him on the blog.... and this would be why. Who needs to make a face in every picture?!
The kids had a great Valentine's and woke up to goodies and pancakes, a total win-win in my book! They had a couple days off this week and we literally just slothed around the house and worked on tons of projects and played together. I am probably the only crazy mom who prefers days off to school days.
One of my best friends is coming to visit today and my mom is spending the weekend with us, so I am off to clean, squeeze in a couple of workouts and relax! Have a great weekend!
Thank you for reading! -xx

Today let's talk about something I feel very strongly about (ha! passion!) lip colors. I am a true lip gloss/stick/color hoarder and have no less than four in my bag at a time. I mean, a girl has to have options, right? I definitely have very different color choices for different seasons. In the Summer I stick to light neutrals so I can show off my tan, and in the Winter I wear a lot more brights to make everything brighter and cheerier.
Here is what is in my current Winter rotation right now...
left to right:
Honest Beauty Lip Crayon in Mulberry Kiss - This is an amazing wine colored lip crayon that gives serious color. It's intense and on the matte side, but goes perfectly with a really subtle eye and face. The color stays put without being drying at all.
Bobbi Brown Rich Color Gloss in Tutu 1 - (not available, but Pink Buff literally looks exactly the same.) I love Bobbi Brown glosses because they're not super sticky, they give great color, moisture and stay on for a long time. I have been buying her glosses for over ten years and will always continue to do so because they are AWESOME!
Trish McEvoy Lip Color in Precious Pink - I am a huge Trish McEvoy fan (even if she doesn't rank well on the chemical usage scale, oops!) and her lip colors are definitely one of the reasons why. They all give a sheer wash of color, while moisturizing and have a delicious minty flavor to them. This shade gives the most perfect pinky pink color that can be built up.
Trish McEvoy Lip Color in Perfection - Same reasons as above except that this really is perfection, as in the most perfect nude lipstick ever. I think it's such a perfectly light and flattering shade that will match almost any skin tone. I wear this almost daily and keep a tube in my bag at all times.
YSL Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain in 203 - This is a mouthful to say, but it's a great gloss for a reason. It gives amazingly pigmented color for a gloss, is uber lightweight and stays put. It almost seems to seal your lips so that the color stays on for hours. I recommend trying the colors on in store because they can look very different on than what they do in the bottle!
NYX Butter Gloss in Merengue - This is THE best bang for your buck lip color IMHO. It's a fun, girly pink that is moisturizing (do we see an avoid dry lips theme here?) and just doesn't appear cheap at all. A lot of budget brand colors can seem funky on, but this looks like a really beautiful shade of pink with purple undertones. It's my go-to girly color and I love the $5 price point!
